GOLDTIMERS

Calling all Seniors! Kick off the Christmas season on Dec. 6, at 12:30 pm at our Christmas gathering. Cost is $15 (tax and tip included).

ABW MEETING - Monday, Dec. 10, 11:30am - 1pm

All ladies are invited to the Dec. ABW Meeting, Bring your own lunch; dessert, tea/coffee will be provided.

ADVENT LIGHT SERVICE - Sunday, Dec. 16, 6:30pm

If you’re planning to attend the Advent Light Service and will need childcare, please sign up using your Connect Card to help us prepare with volunteers. Please indicate ages of children attending.

DECEMBER 30, 2018 - One Service, 10am

The Sunday after Christmas will be a special day for us. We’ll all be together in one service at 10am, Jake & Hannah Freeze will share some music and lead us in worship, and we’ll also be treated to a reading by our own Jon Ohlhauser. If that wasn’t enough, after the service is over we’ll be eating pizza together and hopping on a bus to head for some skating together at Moncton’s new Downtown Outdoor Oval - so don’t forget to bring your skates! Please use your Connect Card to sign up and let us know how many of your family will be attending.

OFFERING ENVELOPES

2019 offering envelopes are available for pick up today at the back of the auditorium. If you need envelopes or have any questions concerning giving or e-offering (automatic withdrawal), see Charlie Somers or use your Connect Card to contact the office.

POLICY ON INCOME TAX RECEIPTS

Reminder that any monetary donation must be received by (or postmarked by) Dec. 31 to be eligible for a 2018 income tax receipt.

HERE TO SERVE: RECONNECT

We’re jumping on board to help our own Lisa Ryan and the Reconnect team as they work to impact the homelessness problem we’re facing in our city. All month we’ll be collecting Sobey’s/Superstore gift cards (any value) to help purchase supplies. They can be dropped off at Connections Corner on Sundays or the church office throughout the week.

FALL BUSINESS MEETING 6:30pm

The Fall Business Meeting will be held on Nov. 19 at 6:30pm The Budget will be presented and a short business meeting held. Please plan to attend, all are welcome, but only members can vote.

AN INVITATION FOR ALL LEWISVILLE LADIES

You’re invited to the Tuesday night ladies' closing night Nov. 27, 7-8:30 pm for dessert and the great opportunity to hear a special guest. Marsha Boyd Mitchell is Executive Director of Christian Action Federation of NB. She completed her doctorate with her research in the area of spiritual formation of adolescents. Marsha is passionate about seeing young people give the days of their youth to their Creator. As women, who are positioned to influence the young people in our lives, you will be challenged and encouraged as she addresses the tough issues faced by our youth in today’s culture and what we can do to help them. Please feel free to invite an interested friend and join us for the evening. SENIOR LADIES TEA

BAPTISM 101 October 21 (11am)

Have questions about baptism? Wonder what it’s all about and why we do it? Baptism 101 is for you. This video-based class will help you understand what the Bible has to say about baptism and why it’s important. If you’re considering being baptized please join us for Baptism 101!

LEWISVILLE 101 October 28 (11am)

Lewisville 101 is a video-based class designed for folks considering membership here at LBC. We’ll answer questions like, “Why become a member?”, “What does becoming a member mean for me?” and “How do I get started?”. If you’re considering membership or are even just a little curious, come and join us!

WEDDING SHOWER

Friends of Lauren Everett and Josh Smith will be hosting a “Jack & Jill” wedding shower on Monday, Sept. 24th at 7 pm to celebrate their upcoming marriage on October 7. All men and ladies from the church are welcome to attend. Please bring either sandwiches, sweets or finger foods. If you wish to contribute to a group gift please see Diane Bustin, Jillian Somers or drop it at the office.

TWO SERVICES

Two services will be starting up again on September 9, 2018. Times for the services are 9:15am and 11am.

KIDSVILLE

YOUTH

Along with serving in various camp ministry capacities, we’re excited to cheer on our youth who are participaing in a mission trip to Truro, NS this summer.  Our youth meet on Sundays and Fridays during the fall and winter, so please visit our website for more info, and don’t hesitate to contact René Robicaud with any questions (rene@lewisvillebaptistchurch.com).

PRAYER NIGHT

Our mid-week building prayer nights will be taking a break for the summer, but please continue to be in prayer for this effort.  We hope to see many of you join us when we resume in September.

SUMMER HOURS

The church’s administrative offices will be closed on Fridays through the summer. We will be returning to two Sunday services (9:15 & 11am) on September 9.

BRIDAL SHOWER

Friends of Rachel Plume are inviting the ladies of the church to a “Money Tree Bridal Shower” on Tuesday, July 17 from 7-8pm.  Dessert will be served, so please join us as we celebrate this special time in Rachel’s life!   See Diane Bustin or Lauren Everette.

Register online to let us know you’re coming and don’t miss out on Kidsville’s biggest event of the year!  Check out the BAC board in the foyer for ways that you can help by donating or volunteering!

On July 1, we’ll start the summer season by going to one service at 10am.

S’MORE SUNDAY
Camp Wildwood is an exciting ministry that provides an awesome summer experience for hundreds of kids each year. Lewisville has traditionally provided some scholarship funds for families who may not otherwise have the means to send their kids to camp.  On July 1, after the service we will be serving up S’mores here at the church.  Please stay and join us and if you can please make a contribution to the Help Send a Kid to Camp Fund.

MENTAL WELLNESS SEMINAR
Parents and teens are invited to attend an upcoming seminar focused on mental wellness.  We’re meeting from 6:30-8:30pm on Fri. April 6 and we’re encouraging both parents and teens to join us.  Special guests Eleanor Kremlin and Andrea Stoodley will be leading us through some important discussions as we grapple with this timely topic of mental health and wellness.  We hope to see you there! MARCH BREAK

March 5 - 9 -  All children’s, youth programs, men’s and ladies’ small groups will be taking a break. All programs will resume the next week.

YARD SALE

Saturday, March 10, 8am - 2pm Donations accepted during office hours and in the evenings the week of March 5-9. Please, NO clothes, mattresses or TV sets! Proceeds from this year’s sale will go to Teen Challenge and the bake table sales will go to support CBM’s She Matters. Baked items need to be dropped off at the church on Friday, March 9. Volunteers are needed to sort and price all week  (mainly mornings and evenings) and the day of the sale (floorwalkers, packing and tear down). Also needed, plastic bags and tissue paper for the sale.

KIDSVILLE BAPTISM & DISCIPLESHIP COURSE

This course is for kids in grades 3-5 who have made the decision to follow Christ and want to take the next steps in their faith! This 4-week course will run from April 8 to 29 during the 11am service. Please let Lauren or Diane know by March 25 if your child would like to participate.
