During the week of March Break (March 7-11) all mid-week programs will be taking a one-week break.  The normal schedule resumes March 14th.

Our Back to the Future Church Picnic has been moved to Sunday, September 20th from 2-5pm due to the weekend weather forecast.  All the details remain the same, just a day later.

Have you been around long enough to remember that joyous summer occasion in days of yore called the “Sunday School Picnic”?  Corn boil, hotdog bar-b-que, silly family games…ah, the memories.

Well, hang on to your bellbottoms, ‘cuz we’re turning back the clock!

In celebration of our recently acquired plot of land we’re going to get together on it for an old-style shindig fit for the whole family!  Sunday, September 20th at 2pm join us on the new land located at 302 Storey Road East for all the fun your family can fathom!  Don’t ya dare miss it!

It’s Playzone’s Birthday!  Today marks the first anniversary of PlayZone’s inception here at Lewisville Baptist Church. We had a whopping 62 children, caregivers and helpers (a Playzone record!) celebrating with us.  No party would be complete without finger foods and a giant birthday cake!  In just a short year, PlayZone has gone from 29 children in the Spring of ’08 to today’s record-setting numbers.  Good news travels fast and our group continues to grow week to week.  All children ages 0-5 and their caregivers are welcome every Wednesday from 10am-12noon.  For more information, check out www.lewisvillebaptistchurch.com/playzone

In conjunction with the Board of Christian Education and leadership of the church, we have made a shift in the staffing structure of the Children’s Ministry at Lewisville that we’re excited to share with you. The current position held by Laura Small will be split into two Coordinator positions. The second position, interim for a year, will be filled by Kyla Richardson effective January 1, 2009. Kyla is a teacher in the District 2 school system and is gifted with children and in organizational skills. She also comes to us having had previous staff experience at Lewisville and as the former Coordinator of our Boomtown nursery ministry. This change will allow us to grow and function at a higher and more effective level in Kidsville.
