Clothes Needed at the PRC
As we sort through our clothing here at the Pregnancy Resource Centre, we are noticing we are extremely low on boys and girls sizes 12 months to 6 years, particularly boys summer clothes. Our ladies clothing, both maternity and regular is also very low. We are open Monday to Thursday from 8:45am until 3:45pm for donations. Thank you so much for your continued support for the young moms and their children.
Send A Kid to Camp
Our recent Hot Dog Social fundraiser for Camp Wildwood scholarships raised over $2,000! Awesome! That’s two thirds of the way to our $3,000 goal! If you’d like to give to this fund and help send a kid to camp from our area who may not have the means to go on their own, just write “Camp Wildwood Scholarship” on your offering envelope or see the folks at Connections Corner!
Kids Meals@Home
Hey parents! Pickup in Kidsville your Meals@Home conversation placemats for the kids, the “Family Dinner Chatterbox” (no…that’s not one of your kids!) and family ideas for making meal time quality family time. Did you know that the average parent spends 38.5 minutes per week in meaningful conversation with their children? That that family dinners are more important than play, story time and other family events in the development of vocabulary of younger children? More importantly the dinner table is great place to have intentional faith talks with your child because faith begins at home. So pick up these resources that you can use at home in Kidsville today!
Teen Meals@Home
Thank you to those of you who attended or helped make All Start Parents happen. We had a great family meal around the table and a great workshop after! Families who attended walked away with some great resources: Our Meals@Home (Teen Edition) placemat with some discussion starters, a Chatter Box, a recipe card parent & teen activity, and handouts sharing the benefits of family meal times. Extra of these Meals@Home (Teen Edition) packets are available at Connections Corner for you to use as resources for your family!
What about teens and mealtime? Meal time is beneficial as time to check in with teens, making it easier to spot a problem before it gets out of hand—whether it’s through conversation or noticing changes in your teen’s behaviour. Regular healthy meals can also help to manage teens’ stress. In today’s busy world, the family can relax and be together to share what’s happening in daily life.

VBS Volunteers Needed
Lights! Camera! Action! We need some help to get ready for when this year’s Bible Adventure Camp, Superstar Studios makes its debut and takes centre stage. Want to help? We will be making lots of fun props and other things that will spark the kids’ imaginations. There are also craft supplies that need “getting ready” so the kids can to dive into them. We are needing volunteers to join us, the BAC Team, every Wednesday night in May & June at 6:30pm to help us create some of the ideas that are in our heads. Even if you don’t think you’re very creative we still want you! There is always cutting, painting and gluing that needs to be done to get to the final result. We would love to have you! This is a great way to get involved even if you can’t be here when Superstar Studios hits the stage!! Contact Diane for more information.
