The next meeting of the ABW group will be Monday, April 23rd at 12 noon. Bring a brown bag lunch and come ready hear from Lee VanBuskirk about his incredible mission trip to Guatemala, building homes and relationships, and the impact it had on him. As always, all ladies are invited to attend.
Lewisville 101 Membership Class
If you are interested in participating in our Lewisville 101 Membership Class, please sign up on your Connections Tab or at Connections Corner. We will be holding a membership class the last Tuesday of every month at Dale Somers’ home (5 Warner Lane). Our next class will be on Tuesday, April 24th at 6:30pm. Don’t let the date and time keep you from exploring membership at Lewisville! If Tuesday evenings are not possible for you, please contact the church office and let us know so we can do our best to accommodate you.
Square One Service Opportunity
Coming up on Wednesday, April 25th is the Speedway Family Dinner. In an effort to keep costs down, Square One will be providing the dinner for these kids and their families. Any post-high school young adults willing to help cook & serve on that evening, please speak to Pastor Rene.
Wildwood Weekend
The weekend of April 28th-29th will bring a couple of opportunities to support the ministry of Camp Wildwood and help kids get there who may otherwise not have the means. Wildwood is hosting a banquet at Crandall University on Saturday, April 28th (6pm, $14.95+tax per plate). Donations will be accepted and this year any proceeds from the banquet will be going towards a general scholarship fund at the camp for kids everywhere who may not have the financial means to attend (call 743-2757 for more).
The next day, Sunday, April 29th, we here at Lewisville will be hosting a “Hot Dog Sunday” fundraiser! Stick around after the service, have a hot dog and help us raise funds to make sure that kids in need specifically from our church and community have the opportunity to attend camp too! (Proceeds from this event will be held here at Lewisville in a scholarship fund to help ensure that kids in need specifically from our church and community don’t miss out on the camp experience, as we’ve done regularly over the years.)
If you’re ever been to Camp Wildwood or know someone who has, you understand the value of this ministry. We hope to see lots of you out to show our support for camp and our love for kids next weekend!
College & University Grad Sunday
University Grad Sunday this year will be Sunday, April 29th. Do you know a college or university graduate that you would like to see recognized in the service? Use the Connections Card in your bulletin to share their name, degree/program and school information with us and drop it in the offering plate. You can also contact the church office during the week. We don’t want to miss anyone.
Next Steps—Baptism& Child Dedication
If you’re looking to take some “next steps” here at Lewisville, we have a few opportunities coming up! If you would like to be baptized, there’ll be an opportunity coming up on April 29th. Pastor Gord would love to hear about your plans to take this exciting step, so be sure and let him know. HOWEVER: Don’t forget to fill out a Connections Card in your bulletin (or grab one at Connections Corner) to let us know you’re interested and provide a way to contact you! Just drop it in the offering plate or leave it with a Connections Team member.
We’re also going to be having a child dedication in our Mother’s Day service (May 13th). If you’ve got a little one who you’d like to dedicate before God and your church family, or even if you’d just like a little more info about the process, we’d love to hear from you! Please fill out a Connections Card in your bulletin (or at Connections Corner) with your name and contact info and we’ll be in touch!
