Adopt-A-Student Lunch
Today at 12pm there will be a lunch to introduce adopted students to their host families. All students in the Square 1 age group are invited to attend and get connected.

We are looking for individuals who either have or would be willing to obtain the appropriate licensing (Class 4) in order to drive the bus to and from Crandall University on Sunday mornings. We would like to have 3 or 4 individuals who would take this on as a ministry so that they would only need to drive once a month. If you would be willing to serve in this area, please contact the church office at 853-7552.

We will be holding a membership class the last Tuesday of every month at Dale Somers’ home (5 Warner Street). Our next class will be on Tuesday, September 27th at 6:30pm.

Tuesday, September 27th—Our High School youth group will meet here in the Meeting Room from 7-9pm as we get to know each other and discuss ”Who we surround ourselves with”.
Wildside This Week
Friday, September 30th—Our Middle School youth will meet here in the gym from 7-9pm, and we will look at who and how we choose the friends we hang out with (beyond the fun activities and hang out times with friends).
Crandall University 2011 Murray Lecture
This year’s public lecture is entitled “J.R.R. Tolkien: Christian Prophet for our Time of Terror” and will be held in the Brinton Auditorium at Crandall University on Thursday, October 13th at 7pm. This year’s speaker will be Dr. Ralph C. Wood, The Rev. Robert J. Randall Distinguished Professor in Christian Culture from Baylor University, Texas. The public is invited to attend.
BreakAway Goes Bowling
BreakAway Goes Bowling on Saturday, October 15th at Fairlanes. If you’d like to join us, we’re meeting at the church at 7pm (bowling from 7:30-8:45pm — 2 strings). Cost is $5 per person plus $1.50 for shoe rental. After bowling we’ll be returning to the church for some chatting and chewing! Bring along some finger foods to share. The Johnny’s 2 for 1 Coupon Books are available for pickup. If you ordered a book, please see Dennis Bustin for your copy. There are still many books available, so if you would like to order a copy, please speak to Dennis or contact the PRC.
The PRC has also produced a cookbook from submissions by staff, volunteers & clients. If you would like a copy, please contact Marion at the PRC. Cost for the book is $12.

Welcome back to all college & university students! For those students choosing to attend Lewisville we would like to be your ‘home away from home’. We need church families to volunteer as hosts for these students, offering them emotional and spiritual support during the school year. If you would like to be part of the Adopt-A-Student program, please sign up on the Connection Tab in your bulletin or at Connections Corner.
There will be a kick-off dinner on Sunday, September 25th at 12pm to introduce adopted students to their host families. If you are able to attend this lunch, please sign up so we have an idea of numbers.

Harvest House Grand Re-Opening
With renovations nearing completion, Harvest House Ministries will be having a Grand Opening celebration on Friday, September 23rd and Saturday, September 24th from 9am to 6pm. Everyone is welcome to drop in and take a tour of the new facility.

It’s that time of year again at Speedway! We’re at the starting line and ready to race into a new year of fantastic fun! To get us started, all kids ages K-Gr4 and their families are invited to our “Get Going Grand Prix” event! It’s all happening on Wednesday, September 14th from 6:30-8pm. There’ll be more games, food and fun than you and your family can stand! If this is your first year at Speedway or if you’re a veteran racer, this will be a great way to kick off the season with your friends and family. Get ready! We’re about to take the JUMP! Wednesday, September 7th is the night we’re getting ready to leap into another year of serving and investing in children’s lives. It’s a kick-off event! We’ll all come together as a team to have some fun, build team spirit, do some training, eat (of course!), and most importantly, celebrate and encourage you, the ones who make this ministry to kids possible. Let’s put our best foot forward as we JUMP into serving kids and say… Jesus Use Me Please! If you are not on one of our kids’ ministries teams but are thinking you might like to join, this event is for you as well!

Wedding Shower
On Thursday, September 8th at 7pm, friends of Kathy Harris and Victor Vaughan will be hosting a shower here at the church. Everyone is invited to come enjoy some dessert and help welcome Victor to our Lewisville family. In lieu of gifts a money tree will be available to show our love and support. Their wedding will take place on Saturday, September 24th.
Worship Choir Potluck
Before Worship Choir gets officially underway, there will be a Worship Choir Po Luck at the MacLeod’s (142 Tamarack Terrace) on Friday, September 9th at 6pm. If you were in the choir last year or would like to consider being part of this ministry this year, then please come. Sunday School Starts Next Week!
Next week, Sunday, September 11th, we ‘Flip the Switch’ on our Sunday morning programming. Starting at 9:30am kids and adults alike will be meeting for Sunday School. Kids from nursery to Grade 4 will be downstairs in Kidsville. Middle School & High School classes will be upstairs in the Youth Room. All adults (Square 1 age and up) will be together in the upper auditorium.

Camp Wildwood Men’s Retreat
The annual men’s retreat at Camp Wildwood is coming up Friday, October 14th to Sunday, October 16th. The speaker this year will be Charles Yerxa and the theme is, “Being A Real Man, Not Again! I’ve Heard That Before” (Proverbs 4:20-23). The Youth Leaders Praise Band will be leading worship and Rivercreek Gospel will provide special music.
Each year the men who attend are tremendously blessed from this weekend of spending time with God and His people. The weekend is inspiring and a time of encouragement. Cost for the weekend is $75+tax. Register online at www.campwildwood.ca.
