Congratulations Grads of 2011!
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” ~ Jeremiah 29:11
We will be having a baptism service TODAY at 4:30pm in the upper sanctuary. Come celebrate with the candidates as they make a public profession of their faith in Christ.
Potluck with Ron Albinet
Join us TONIGHT at 5:30pm for a potluck with our Partner-In-Mission, Ron Albinet, serving as CBM Global Field Staff. He and his family are in Canada on home assignment for the summer, and he would like the chance to tell us about his work in the Middle East.
Square One: Centennial Park
Attention all young adults or young at heart! Square One will be meeting on Tuesday, June 14th at 6:30pm at the outdoor stage in the Centennial Park playground where we will worship, chat and then hike a trail. Parents with young children can hang out with us for this simple night of fun in the park. If it’s raining we will still meet at the park to discuss alternate options.
Spring Business Meeting
The Spring Business meeting will be held at 7pm on Monday, June 20th.
Calling All Members of The Sunnyville Crowd!
Sunny Brae Baptist Church is celebrating its 90th birthday this year, and as part of the celebration they are hoping for an appearance of The Sunnyville Crowd choir on Sunday, September 11th at 7pm. They need our help in locating any former members of that youth choir from the late 60′s. If you are interested and/or can help locate any former members, please contact D.J. Moore (who just happens to be that old and a former member!)
As announced last Sunday, Kayla Evans and Lauren Somers have been hired as our summer students through the SEED Grant Program. Kayla and Lauren will be leading children’s programs throughout the summer as well as planning special events for our youth groups. They start work tomorrow, Monday, June 13th, so be sure to make them feel welcome when you see them around and when they are connecting with you looking for volunteers!
Check out the bulletin board in the hallway for the latest updates from our Partners-In-Mission.
Send A Kid to Camp
One of our “Here to Serve” opportunities at Lewisville has traditionally been helping kids access the great stuff Camp Wildwood has to offer—this year is no different! If you would like to support our camp and give a child who needs it some help to get there then make a donation via the offering and designate it “Camp Wildwood Sponsorship Program”. Thanks for your support!
New Life Mission Needs Our Help!
Looking for a way to help? New Life Mission wants you! We are looking for people to partner with us by saving their recyclables and donating them to the Mission. This would help us to provide snack items for our children. If you are willing to serve in this area, please contact the Mission at 859-4277.
Helpers Needed for Young Adult Ministries
Our Young Adult Ministries are in need of helpers wanting to be involved in sports events this summer. Please clarify when you are available (e.g. Tuesday evenings, Thursday at lunch, etc.)
Our Young Adult Ministries are looking for couples willing to host or help coordinate activities in their homes or neighbourhoods. This summer we will be continuing to go into our local community and be involved in the lives of its families. We’d love to come to your neighbourhood and hold an activity (block party, ball hockey game, kite flying day, etc.) and build relationships with our (your) neighbours, but we need folks to host us, or at least be the link in the neighbourhood.
Please contact Pastor Rene to discuss further.

Solidarity Sunday & Partner-In-Mission Visit
Every year we take part in CBM’s Solidarity Sunday, and this year all funds raised will be going to help support leaders who are working for positive change in Kenya. CBM has a goal of raising $100,000 to support the next generation of emerging leaders in Africa. On Sunday, June 26th, please bring your donations for Solidarity Sunday (suggested donation of $5). More information is available on the CBM website, www.cbmin.org. Out Partners-In-Mission who have been serving in Nairobi, Kenya will also be with us that morning to say goodbye as they finish up their season of ministry with CBM.
