CONNECT Articles Due
CONNECT articles are due tomorrow, Monday, February 28th. If you have anything for the March issue of CONNECT, please send all submissions to Jeff via email at connect@lewisvillebaptistchurch.com.
Worship Team Orientation
If you (or someone you know) have a musical gift and passion and would like to explore the possibility of serving on the worship team, we’ll be holding an orientation event soon! Please speak to Jeff Somers, Jillian Somers or contact the church office to let us know.
Lobby Labour
You may have noticed a little extra moisture in our lobby these days! The extra ‘blessing’ of snow this season has made life difficult for our already-temperamental roof. Our custodian extraordinaire, Jim, has been working hard to stem the tide (figuratively and literally) and many thanks to the strong backs who’ve volunteered to help remove some of the snow in an effort to alleviate ice damming. Rest assured that we’re well aware of the problem and are doing everything we can to implement temporary solutions and arrive at a permanent one to keep things warm, dry and most importantly, safe. Thanks for your patience as the lobby looks a little worse-for-wear these days!

The Connections Team schedule for March-May is now available at Connections Corner. All Connections Team volunteers are asked to stop by and get a copy today.
Also, anyone who wishes to volunteer for the Connections Team as a greeter, usher or Connections Corner host/hostess, please speak to a member of the Team.

Alpha
An Alpha group, led by Lloyd & Maria Taylor, will be starting up tonight. If you’ve never heard of Alpha or aren’t sure what it’s all about, here’s the scoop: Alpha is an opportunity to explore the meaning of life in a relaxed, friendly setting. The Alpha course meets once a week, for 10 weeks. Each session includes a meal, an intriguing talk (often on video), small group discussion, and a getaway halfway through the course.
At each session, people enjoy great food, laughter and learning in a fun and friendly atmosphere where no question about life or God is seen as too simple or too hostile… questions like: Is there a God? Why am I here? Where did I come from? Where am I going? What came first, the chicken or the egg?
Alpha is a safe place to explore these things and ask your questions while journeying alongside others who have some of the same questions. If you or someone you know would like to participate in our Alpha group starting tonight at 5pm, you can sign up at Connections Café after the service, or contact the church office.
Goldtimers
Our first quarterly get-together of 2011 will take place on Thursday, February 10th at 12:30pm. This meeting will feature music by Dennis & Diane Bustin. Our pastor will of course be on hand to share jokes and inspirational thoughts. The meal this time will be ham & hashbrown casserole with a yummy dessert. The cost will be $10. Please feel free to come along and of course invite a friend. If you plan to attend please speak to Peggy Atkinson or Norris Parlee to reserve your seat. See you there!
