Christmas Poinsettias
As in past years, we will be offering the opportunity to donate the cost of a poinsettia ($10) “In Memoriam” to be displayed in the sanctuary during the Christmas season. Please have your donation to the church office this week.
Christmas Is: Snow
December 12th and 13th we’ll be staging our now annual Christmas presentation “Christmas Is”. An evening of music and drama, “Christmas Is: Snow” tells the story through word and song of the journey many of us undertake to find the truth amid the tinsel at Christmas time. This is a free event and a perfect opportunity to invite a friend who needs to hear the message of hope and transformation the Christmas story offers through an entertaining evening of contemporary music and drama. Three words: Invite, invite, invite! See you there!
Winter Items Needed
Winter is fast approaching and the PRC is seeing an increase in clients looking for winter coats, hats, mitts, snowsuits etc. They are especially in need of sizes 4 – 8 years for boys and girls. If any of you are cleaning out your closets and looking for a place to donate, they would gladly receive your donations. Thank you so much for the help and support that you offer to the Pregnancy Resource Centre.
Policy on Income Tax Receipts
Article IX of our Church Constitution states: “The fiscal year of the Church shall begin the first day of January and close on the last day of December. Any monetary donation must be received by, or if mailed, postmarked by December 31st to be eligible for an income tax receipt dated for that year.”
A Favour From Parents
We all love watching kids explore the world around them and try new things, and we hope to foster such growth here. In that vein, however, we do need to ask that parents and caregivers at Lewisville join us in making the stage area (and the instruments and equipment found there) and sound desk at the back of the auditorium off limits to little hands and feet. As cute as it can be, some folks who participate in the services come with their own equipment, and during the Christmas season we have various pieces of rented equipment around as well. We know you’ll want to join us in our efforts to respect others’ private property. Thanks so much!
Administrative Assistant
For those who were not at the Fall Business Meeting on Monday night, the hiring committee consisting of Jim Carey, Bob Moore and Gordon MacLeod presented the name of the successful candidate for the position of Administrative Assistant while Sarah is on maternity leave as Lauren Somers. You can contact her at lauren@lewisvillebaptistchurch.com. Sarah will be on maternity leave as of December 11th.
Thank-You
Thank you to all for your prayers, cards and phone calls. Thanks to all of the people from the Dorcas Ministries who sent meals. We really enjoyed them! Grace is looking forward to bringing Isaac to meet everyone.
