Up To Speed
Recently, on Sunday, June 21st, the church family got together for an evening of celebration and commitment toward Lewisville’s vision for our church and community.  It was an exciting evening and you, the church, gave and committed to giving over $67,000.  What an exciting way to start off this new campaign!  If you missed out and would like an opportunity to add your support financially, please contact the church office.  Similarly, if you would like to be included in prayer updates, please contact the office for details.  God is good, all the time…

Tidal Impact
Tidal Impact is a week-long summer youth mission tour held every two years in Atlantic Canada.  From July 11-17th, churches in Moncton and Saint John will be hosting over 1,200 youth that  assemble for this event. This year our visiting church will be Brunswick Street Baptist (Fredericton). They are bringing 12 youth to partner with us for a week of service and fun! There are a couple areas in which we need help for this week:
- Billets for 12 people, July 11th-17th (bed, breakfast & a bag lunch each day)
- 5 drivers for a food drive on Monday night, July 13th
If you can help out with one or both of these areas, please speak to Pastor Brent ASAP.

Send a Kid to Camp
It’s that time of year again—time to send our kids to camp! Every year we receive requests from people who know of children who would really like to go to camp but are not financially able. If you know of kids who would like to enjoy a week at Camp Wildwood, or if you would like to donate money, please speak to the office staff.

It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over…
As you’ve likely already noticed, we’ve officially made our annual migration to the gym for our Sunday worship services.  Given our recent plans and undertakings concerning a new worship space putting us permanently in the gym, there may be some confusion as to whether or not we will be returning to the sanctuary for any period of time, or what the plans to make this occasion might be.  Given the fluidity of construction timelines and so on, we are unable to confidently forecast a date when our new space will officially be available just yet.  With that in mind, we’re holding off on any plans to do anything “official” as far as marking our new worship space and honouring the old.  That being said, rest assured that we will do our best to keep all members informed as more information becomes available.  When the time arrives, we plan to properly recognize the occasion—thanking God for what He’s done in these spaces in the past, and commitment both to Him and His glory going forward!

Facility Notice
Due to the increasing amount of transition and construction activity throughout the upcoming summer months here at Lewisville, the church’s facilities will be unavailable for use or rent to additional events, groups or individuals (weddings, banquets, recitals, rehearsals, etc.) effective August 17th, 2009 and for an as-yet unknown period of time. This is an unfortunate yet inevitable reality of the growth taking place over the summer. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we navigate the transition period of these exciting developments! (Reinstatement of the facility’s availability is subject to construction timelines and will be announced at a later date).

PRC Fundraiser
Once again, the Pregnancy Resource Centre of Moncton is selling Johnny’s 2 for 1 Coupon Books as a fundraiser.  This is a great way to enjoy some of Moncton’s restaurants and leisure activities while at the same time supporting a worthy cause.  The cost of the book is $37.17 + HST ($42.00), which is easily recouped.  You can see the list of coupons in last year’s book at http://www.johnnyscoupons.com/moncton/index.php.  This year’s book is even bigger & better, with new options (though some of last year’s may not be in it this year).  If you are interested in supporting this cause, please phone or email the Pregnancy Resource Centre (857-3039 or marion_monctonprc@rogers.com) or contact Dennis Bustin by email at dennis.bustin@abu.nb.ca to order a book.  The books will be available by the middle of August and you will be contacted when they arrive.

Camp E.D.G.E. Begins Tonight!

Camp E.D.G.E. begins tonight at 6pm!  All kids in K-Grade4 are welcome to join us for an action-packed, adrenaline-filled expedition.  Come prepared to make some new friends and to Experience and Discover God Everwhere!

Camp Wildwood
Exciting news! Construction has started on the new pool at Camp Wildwood! But we need your help to “fill the pool” so we can use it this summer.  To get the pool completely operational, we need $75,000. Can you help by bringing/sending your contribution to camp during Family Camp weekend, June 26-28th? The pool holds approximately 500,000 litres of water. It costs about $1.00 to buy 5 litres of water at the store. You do the math and prayerfully consider how many litres you can contribute to the pool! Save your loonies and toonies, your tens and twenties for the next two weeks. Let’s see how big a splash we can make in the pool!

The Food Bank Needs Your Help!
With the difficult economic situation facing the country, the supplies at the Christian Food Bank have been severely depleted. There have been many new families using the food bank and they need more canned goods to be able to meet the increased need.  Financial donations would also be welcomed. You can drop your contributions off in the blue barrel in the gym hallway.  Every little bit helps!

Thank You
Thank you to all the lovely ladies who planned and attended my bridal shower on May 26. It was such an honour, and such a surprise. We are so lucky to feel the love and support of the Lewisville church family. Thank you as well for the generous gifts and favourite recipes, which will certainly make things easier (and more enjoyable!) in the kitchen.
