Spencer Home Memorial Service
This afternoon at 2pm, Spencer Home will be holding their annual memorial service for those residents who passed away the previous year. All are invited to attend and remember those Lewisville members who passed away in 2008: Amy Bursey, Archie Purdy & Vina West.
Annual Business Meeting
The Annual Business Meeting will be held tomorrow, January 26th at 7pm. All members are invited to attend.
Alarm System Wipe
In an attempt to better track access to the building, in the near future we will be wiping the alarm system and reprogramming it with new access codes. Everyone who currently has a key to the building will need to call the office to arrange for a new code by Friday, January 30th.
BreakAway
Guess what is happening Saturday, January 31st at 7:30? You guessed it—BreakAway! Guess what we’ll be doing! Can’t guess? A night of guessing games! Join us with some guests. The lunch provided may leave you guessing as well. Sign up today on the sheets at Connections Café.
Wedding Shower
On Thursday, February 5th at 7:30pm there will be a “Jack & Jill” wedding shower for Kim Carey & Jordan Noel. Please bring sweets to share. If you would like to contribute toward a gift, please see Jillian Somers, Laura Small or Sarah Moss in the church office.
Revised Constitution & Policy Manual
Copies of the revised Constitution and Policy Manual for the upcoming Annual Business Meeting have been circulating for some time now and are available from the church office for your perusal. If you were unable to attend the discussion held January 8th and you have a question or concern about these documents, you can contact Dale Somers by email (dale@lewisvillebaptistchurch.com) or through the church office. By virtue of legal requirements we cannot entertain discussion or changes to the motion at the time of the annual meeting, therefore it is imperative that any such communication occur before said meeting. Thanks to those who have offered suggestions and helped us refine the documents thus far. Your contributions have been greatly appreciated!

Goldtimers Date Change
The date for the January meeting of Goldtimers has been changed to Thursday, January 22nd at 12:30 pm. All seniors are invited to attend.

Connections Team Training
Are you … an usher? a greeter? a parking lot attendant? The Connections Team wants YOU! No position is more important in making a first impression with our guests than those on the front lines – like our greeters and ushers! So often a newcomer’s change of a positive experience at Lewisville lives and dies by how they are “greeted and treated”. The stakes are high and we want to give our best to every area of our ministry in an effort to connect people to a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.
We are offering some helpful training to all of those who are on “the front lines” at Lewisville. Saturday, February 7th from 10am to noon we want – no, we NEED all ushers, greeters and parking lot attendants to join us for an exciting training event. We want to equip you with some simple tools to help and challenge you to excel in these very important roles. We have some exciting new plans that all team members will need to hear, so DON’T miss out!

I just wanted you all to know that the trip to Bolivia was very good—no problems with customs, baggage, etc. God is good! Thanks so much for all of your prayers. I’m settling in well and begin language training on [January 14]. It feels wonderful to be here. I was at a youth camp the day after I arrived—I spoke briefly so they could start getting to know me. There were approximately 200 youth present. I’m very excited to be a part of the work here. In a couple weeks I’ll send a full update to you.

As a result of school closures due to extreme cold, there will be NO WILDSIDE (Middle School Youth) TONIGHT, JANUARY 16th!

It’s that time again—time to compile the annual report information. For all those board, committee and group chairpersons who have not yet submitted a report, please do so as soon as possible. Connections Team Training
On Saturday, February 7th at 10am, the Connection Team will be holding a training session for everyone who volunteers as an usher, greeter, or in any other “welcoming” context on Sunday mornings. We would appreciate the attendance of everyone on the Connections Team since this is such a vital ministry in the life of our church.
